Cairo, Egypt: Archeologists have dug up 383 coins of bronze that date back to the times of the King Ptolomeo III, who governed Egypt in the century 3 B.C. and was a forefather of the famous Cleopatra, as informed the Supreme Advice(Council) of Antiquities(Antiques) (SCA) of Egypt yesterday Thursday.
The press release was saying that one of the faces of the coins had inscriptions with the hybrid god Greco-Egipcio Amón-Zeus, whereas another face Ptolemy and king was showing an eagle and the words in Greek.
Founded by one of the generals of Alexander the Great, the Ptolemaic Dynasty governed Egypt for 300 years, fusing the cultures Greek and ancient Egyptian.
